Red Shirt Night and Beer Festival

Once again Pennine Brewing Company were part of Pontefract Races annual Beer Festival along with Ossett Brewery, Revolutions Brewing and the Bier Huis.  There was a great atmosphere with everyone sampling all the ales and ciders and with entertainment provided by the fantastic Smoove Criminalz!  Everyone danced the night away!

Red Shirt Night is a Charity Race Night in aid of Jack Berry’s Appeal for The House That Jack Built. This is the Injured Jockeys Fund rehabilitation centre, currently being built in Malton, for jockeys who have been hurt in racing.  The evening is called ‘Red Shirt Night’ as, when Jack Berry was training racehorses, he always used to wear a red shirt to the races as his lucky symbol!
